Doolan's Cow hit six to land seventh CBL title

OBS celebrate winning the first silverware of the Business League season, the No Sin second division title, following their defeat of ePower at Mayfield Park.

DOOLAN’S COW sealed their seventh Grandon’s Toyota Premier Division title following an impressive win over MHS at Ringmahon Park last Sunday morning.
Doolan’s required just one point from their remaining two fixtures to be crowned champions and went two up through the league’s all time top scorer Tony O’Reilly and Gabriel Cerini.
After Ilija Zagorac pulled one back on the stroke of half-time, Cerini and Harvey’s’ Aaron Dineen shared goals in added time with O’Reilly grabbing his second in the 46th minutes.
The champions elect went out in style with further goals from Aaron Hennessy and Greg Kelly to stay unbeaten.

On the Wednesday night, Grangevale and Arc played out an exciting 2-2 draw in the late kick-off at Mayfield Park.
After Billy Tabb put the Vale one up in the 21st minute, Aaron Baldwin made it two from a corner early in the second-half.
Arc brought on lively striker Paudie Cotter whose direct running lifted his colleagues.
Gavin McCarthy immediately reduced the deficit from long range and with the hosts having to defend heroically and keeper Jamie O’Sullivan making two excellent saves, Kane Murphy rescued a point from a free-kick with five minutes remaining.

Bottom of the table Longboats’ dreadful run of seven consecutive defeats finally came to an end at Crosshaven.
After David O’Keeffe opened the scoring in the 17th minute, Davie Scott added a second four minutes after the resumption.
Kane Murphy replied for Rovers with sixteen minutes remaining but the hosts, who had CBL secretary Peter Travers among their ranks, held on for a welcomed win.

After Marcos Aurelio’s added time first-half goal for Sabor was quickly cancelled out by Jamie Torpey in the 49th minute, Rafael Felippe Machado scored the winner for the visitors in the 66th minute.

Celtic had come out on top in their league meetings and went in three up at the break after Musa Moxamed and a Jamie Thompson brace inside twelve first-half minutes.
A rousing comeback by the The LAB was rewarded with a Matthew Ekhosuehi double but Rob Tier’s injury time fourth make sure James Corcoran’s team will be in the last four.

Council gained sweet revenge for their league defeats to their opponents by coming from behind to a 10th minute Ken O’Brien opening goal to lead 2-1 by the 18th minute, after English born new signing James Prunty made his mark by scoring twice, the first from the penalty spot.
Rob Susek made it 3-1 in the 36th minute before O’Brien brought Here’s Health back into contention with his second on the hour.
Emeka Mbudinma put daylight again between the team with a fourth in the 78th minute for the Chris Halpin and Alex Finn inspired hosts.

On the day OBS received the championship trophy, ePower stayed in the promotion hunt by winning 4-1 at Mayfield Park.
First-half goals from Ryan Murray and Josh Dempsey were followed by early second-half strikes from Daragh Bagnell Hartnett and Ian Vitali. Anthony O’Reilly registered the visitor’s response in the 76th minute to signal the beginning of the on field celebrations at the finish.

Pfizer won away from their home base at Leeside Park courtesy of three first-half goals from Syl Byrne (penalty), Darragh O’Halloran, and Timothy Healy and two in the second from O’Halloran and sub Liam O’Sullivan.

Two goals in the final twenty minutes from Conor Hickey and Ben O’Connor kept Rangers in fourth spot five points ahead of their opponents with three matches in hand.

In an action packed tie at MTU, Hospitals’ Wymin Sivakumar and Athletic’s Thomas Griffin exchanged early goals before Jack Kearney came off the bench to net a second-half double which looked to put the visitors in the ascendancy.
However, a Jamie O’Neill 85th minute penalty reduced the deficit but came to late to affect the outcome.

The visitors were well on top in the opening half hour without breaching Graham Murphy’s net and went behind to Christopher O’Driscoll’s strike in the 38th minute.
The wet underfoot conditions made accurate passing difficult for both teams but O’Driscoll did well to get on the end of a cross to add the decisive second in the 54th minute.
