Castlehaven boss Seanie Cahalane will let the dust settle on the loss to St Finbarr’s before deciding his future.
The Haven were beaten by St Finbarr’s at the McCarthy Insurance Group Premier SFC quarter-final stage at Clonakilty last Sunday afternoon.
The back-to-back champions, who were going for a historic three-in-a-row in this campaign, lost on a scoreline of 6-11 to 0-19.
Cahalane has now completed a second season as manager having guided the Haven to county glory last year.
“I don’t know yet to be honest,” he said when asked by The Echo if he will remain at the helm for a third season.
“I’ll just have to sit down and reassess things and talk to the lads with me on the sideline and see where we’re at.
"We’ll make a call on it then. It’s a huge commitment, but it’s enjoyable as well at the same time.

“Look, these players are a great bunch of lads, they’re a pleasure to deal with. We’ve probably been on the road now three years and they’ve given everything to that jersey and look, they’re outstanding. I have no doubt they’ll all be back again next year.”
Regarding the game itself last weekend, anytime you concede six goals in a game, you're always going to struggle, and Cahalane had no complaints about the 10-point loss.
“Goals win games is an old cliché, but we had no real answer to the goals to be honest,” he says.
“The Barrs were goal hungry and they were very ruthless in their approach. The want and will and attitude was there from our players. I just didn’t think we got the rub of the green at times.
“To win any game or to win a championship, you need a bit of luck and I just don’t think we had it against the Barrs unfortunately. The bottom line is that they took their chances and we have no qualms about the result. They were probably a better team than us on the day.”

Castlehaven have never won three-in-a-row in their proud history. That was their aim this year, but they have fallen at the quarter-final hurdle. The future is still bright though for the team in blue and white.
“We didn’t achieve our goals unfortunately. But look, there’s a young team there, a nice mixture of youth and experience.
"We have some excellent young players coming through. I have no doubt that Castlehaven will be back stronger next year.” Cahalane concluded.
