Cork is hosting a huge cycling event this weekend.

The Cycling Ireland Youth Nationals 2025 are being facilitated by Sliabh Luachra Cycling Club in partnership with Fermoy Cycling Club on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, the Time Trial and Road Races will take place in Knocknagree, a village located on the Cork-Kerry border. The Race HQ will be based at Knocknagree Community Centre. The local Tidy Towns group will be running a pop-up café to raise funds for the village (cash only).

Sunday’s Criterium will be held at Fermoy Mart on a fully closed-road circuit. Fermoy Mart, part of the Cork Mart Group, has generously provided access to the venue and will be acknowledged for their support.

Racing begins at 10am each day, with over 100 young cyclists expected to take part.

Local sponsors supporting the event are Kerry Dairy Group and Verge Sports.

Local riders to watch include George Cleverly Muireann Fenton, Caroline Collins, Denis Lynch and Patrick O'Sullivan from Sliabh Luachra CC and Shane O’Brien from Fermoy.
