Cork Division 1 Hurling League All-Star 15

It was incredibly tough to pick, given the quality of hurling on show all throughout this year’s RedFM Division 1 Hurling League, but here’s your 2025 Team of the Season ahead of the championship kicking off next week.
It was impossible not to include O’Sullivan given the crucial role he played for Fr O’Neill’s all throughout the league, and how influential he was, not only between the posts, but also from frees and puckouts.
Another fantastic campaign from one of the best goalkeepers in the county.
One of the few mainstays in a Rockies full-back line that was constantly mixed and matched, but Ryan was excellent and a key reason for Blackrock’s best defensive record in the league this year.
Another defender who was hugely important in his keeping the scores against to a minimum, Meade was in fine form for Charleville all season long.
The Barrs had a number of standout performers, but Eoin Keane’s consistency across the full-back line has to be acknowledged. Defended really well all season.

Deasy was outstanding for the Rockies this season. His scoring threat at wing-back yielded 13 points but his ball distribution and positioning made him such a crucial player.
Played most of his hurling at half-back but was too good not to take the six slot. Outstanding for Sars in and out of possession, his work rate was immense and he’s one of many outrageously good hurlers in Johnny Crowley’s squad.
Excellent for Charleville. Floated between midfield and half-back during games, and was so reliable from placed balls. Defended well and always made space in the middle, allowing Charleville to be so effective from midfield.

Featured in a number of positions, but was most effective as an attacking midfielder. Gave an exhibition in their win over Carrigtwohill, arguably Douglas’s best player in the league.
The last of three Charleville inclusions, Bresnan adapted to adult hurling with such ease, it’s easy to forget it’s his first season. Got on the scoresheet more often than not and carried the ball forward with power.
Oh so reliable for the Glen, as Brosnan always is. His scoring tally was outrageous given it was almost exclusively from play. Another big championship campaign ahead of him.
O’Neill’s star forward this year, O’Sullivan contributed the majority of their scoring and was excellent from play and placed balls. A big league campaign, he’ll be a huge asset again in this year’s championship.
His standard never wavers. The leader for this Carrigaline team, and his league form this season proved that once more. 0-71 is some scoring.

It’s been a very positive league campaign for Coleman. Not just for his scoring return, but the Rockies forward has made huge progress this season and has a big championship ahead of him. His size and strength make him a nightmare for defenders to deal with.
The best of a strong Carrigtwohill bunch this year, Walsh finished as the top scorer from play and overall. Is a threat any time he’s in possession, can play anywhere in the forward line and will be hugely influential in this year’s Senior A HC.
Minutes were limited, but any time he was on the pitch, he starred. Buckley was phenomenal for the Barrs, making outrageous scores look routine and regularly ripping teams apart. It’s no wonder he got the call up to the Cork seniors.
