Cork have been dealt a setback ahead of the All-Ireland SFC Round 2A game with Donegal with confirmation that Colm O’Callaghan’s red card has been upheld.
It means the Éire Óg midfielder will now serve a one‑match suspension following his dismissal in the Round 1 win over Meath.
O'Callaghan brought his case to the GAA’s Central Hearings Committee on Thursday night.
He was sent off after 50 minutes at Páirc Uí Rinn for what referee Brendan Cawley deemed a striking offence on Ruairí Kinsella. The incident looked harsh in real time and even more so on replay.

Cork's case centred on the context of the challenge and O’Callaghan’s exemplary disciplinary record.
The outcome leaves Cork without one of their most influential performers against Donegal on Saturday week in Ballybofey.
O’Callaghan’s absence is a major blow. He has been central to Cork’s progress.
