Cobh Ramblers have confirmed that the club has parted ways with ownership group FC32, while they are in advanced talks with a new investor.

While the east-Cork side goes through this process, they will be solely operated by its elected committee and directors.

A statement from the club also confirmed that any previously appointed representatives or board members affiliated with FC32 are no longer involved in the club.

This follows a long process that started with the multi-national ownership group withdrawing funding from SKN St. Polten, their Austrian subsidy, and the resignation of Vice President Paul Francis.

DISTANCED

Cobh Ramblers were the sister club and forced to release a statement the following day which distanced themselves from issues with FC32, as the multi-national group consolidated a takeover of Spezia Calcio.

The current board ohave been searching for investment in recent weeks as they balance a push for promotion in the League of Ireland First Division.

“Cobh Ramblers FC wishes to clarify the status of the club’s ownership and governance, following recent speculation and media reports,” their statement read.

“We can confirm that the club has formally and fully parted ways with FC32 Global Investments Limited.

"The process of separation has been completed, and Cobh Ramblers FC has returned to being solely operated by its elected committee and Directors.

"Any previously appointed representatives or board members affiliated with FC32 are no longer involved in the club.

“In recent months, the club has remained operational thanks to the dedication and hard work of our volunteer committee and the elected members board.

Their efforts have ensured that the club could continue to function through a period of uncertainty and transition.

“We are also pleased to confirm that we are in the advanced stages of discussions with a new preferred investor group.

"This group has already provided assistance and support to the club in recent weeks, helping to stabilise club operations while both parties’ complete due diligence.

"We are optimistic that these discussions will lead to a positive outcome for the future of the club and would like to thank the investor group for supporting the club in the interim.

“The focus now is firmly on moving forward together, with the best interests of Cobh Ramblers FC at heart.

“We would like to thank our supporters, players, staff, and the wider community for their continued backing and patience during this time.

“We remain committed to securing a stable and successful future for the club.”

The Ramblers have been searching for a long-term investor since an appeal was issued in December 2022.

A meeting was later called in February 2024, which started a process that ended with the takeover by FC32 last October.

Their tenure and relationship with Cobh Ramblers lasted less than ten months.
