Tim O'Mahony and the Rebel full-forward line were the most consistent performers over the full game

PATRICK COLLINS: Made a critical first-half save from Peter Duggan. Great variety to his puck-outs again even if he was under serious pressure to hit the mark when Shane Barrett saw red. No chance with the three goals really. 7.

NIALL O'LEARY: Tasked with marking the gifted Mark Rodgers. Did very well from general play on him but the concession of three second-half goals will disappoint the last line of defence collectively. 6.

EOIN DOWNEY: Duggan was wearing 12 but started the edge of the square after causing Downey issues in the league. In the first half the All-Star full-back had his measure, but when Clare went more direct he really felt the heat. 6.

SEÁN O'DONOGHUE: Picked up Aidan McCarthy initially and while the number 14 had 1-1, O'Donoghue came up with some fine interceptions. 7.

CIARÁN JOYCE: Won the free that rescued a draw for Cork at the death and had fared well on David Fitzgerald in the first half. Ended up at centre-back when Rob Downey went off injured. 6.

ROB DOWNEY: Picked up a knock coming up to half-time and didn't last long in the second half. He was sorely missed when Cork needed to shut up shop down to 14 in the last quarter. 7.

MARK COLEMAN: Clare sent Tony Kelly onto his wing for the first half, looking to exploit his preference to hurl on the front foot. He was hugely fired up from before a sliotar was pucked and tore into every break. Markers changed as the second half turned into a manic contest. 7.

TIM O'MAHONY: Doing the midfield job Will O'Donoghue perfected for Limerick. An enforcer but also a clever distributor and capable of splitting the posts. One of Cork's best performers across both halves and landed 0-2 for good measure. 8.

ETHAN TWOMEY: Fine first half when his work-rate and covering allowed the Cork forwards to cut loose. Faded out in the third quarter before being replaced by Brian Roche with Fitzgibbon going to midfield. 6.

SHANE BARRETT: After a slow start burst to life in the second quarter, nabbing 0-2 and sending a goal chance inches wide. Was ticking over well in the second half until his moment of madness and the red card. 6.

DARRAGH FITZGIBBON: Put John Conlon on the back foot from the off. Had three from play by half-time and forced Qulligan into a smart save. Ended up as a deep-lying midfielder when Cork were clinging on coming down the stretch. 7.

SEAMUS HARNEDY: Wasn't involved until his first possession resulted in a neat point. Missed a lot of the league and wasn't as sharp as normal. 6.

ALAN CONNOLLY: Scored a point on the wing coming up to the break that was as good as you'll see. Ridiculous skill and striking and had another audacious over-the-head effort in the second half. Cork should perhaps have left him on even if he was tiring. 7.

BRIAN HAYES: Picked up where he left off in the league, nailing 2-1 in the first half and terrorising Darragh Lohan. Ended up getting another neat point in the second half but the Clare defence neutered the goal threat after, which was decisive. 8.

PATRICK HORGAN: Out in front time and again, getting fouled for four converted frees and landing 0-2 from play as well.

Had to make way when Cork were a man down. A pity as he was hugely involved in the third quarter. 8.

SUBS...

GER MELLERICK: Came in for the injured Downey and did extremely well at wing-back, picking up possession and setting up two points. 7.

DECLAN DALTON: Put in a massive effort on his introduction. Brought heft to the half-forward line and unlucky with a couple of booming efforts, one of them pulled down by Quilligan from over the bar. 7.

BRIAN ROCHE: Started superbly after he was sent in to work the channels around Conlon, scoring to push the gap to eight before Barrett's dismissal. Missed a key chance in the closing stages. 6.

SHANE KINGSTON: Came in for Horgan but didn't get to the pitch of the game but was involved in the last-gasp equaliser. 6.

DIARMUID HEALY: On late and couldn't find space to imapct. 6.
