Cobh Ramblers FC has a long-standing history as a community-driven club, and newly appointed community liaison Trevor Cummins is excited to help build on that legacy.
The 43 year-old father of two from Cobh is passionate about the club and he is excited to put his stamp on a role perfectly fitted for him.
His new role will entail working closely with local organizations, schools, charities, and businesses to deepen the club’s connection with the Cobh community.
His experience in outreach, partnership development, and sports advocacy makes him an excellent fit to drive meaningful initiatives that align with the club’s mission and values.
Drawing on over 20 years of experience gained across multi-sport settings, Trevor will play a key role in developing educational programs, promoting football, physical activity and healthy lifestyles, ensuring that Cobh Ramblers continues to be a club that represents and supports its fans, stakeholders, and the wider community.

He will also work alongside the marketing and communications team to highlight community achievements and expand the club’s reach.
Cummins is looking forward to his new role of involving the community more at the club.
“The ultimate objective is to ensure Cobh Ramblers continues to be a club that represents and supports its fans, stakeholders and the wider community,” said Cummins.
"Central to this will be the development of educational programs, promoting football, physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
“I'm very proud to be the first person to represent Cobh Ramblers FC in this capacity, but also extremely fortunate to have a very strong network of FSR officers working with various clubs throughout the League of Ireland.
“Cobh Ramblers FC has a long -standing history as a community-driven club and I am excited to help build on that legacy.
"My goal is to create impactful programs that strengthen our ties with local organizations, schools, and supporters while promoting inclusivity, engagement, and shared success.
“I've enjoyed gaining over twenty years of experience promoting health, physical activity, and performance levels across a multi sport setting. "Those already aware of my contribution to local sports development will recognize my recent efforts within the field of athletics, where I have led the creation of Great Island Athletics, an emerging club in East Cork, as well regularly delivering athletics and physical activity programs in school and community settings in conjunction with Cork Sports Partnership and my own Train With Trevor brand.”
The East Cork club have been making massive strides both on and off the pitch and having passionate club people involved like Cummins will only build on the overall success.
Cummins, a Cobh man through and through is looking forward to driving the club onto another level.
“My relationship with the club is a lifelong one. Having been born in 1982, I was probably one of the few who didn't get off the island to follow the famous 1983 FAI Cup run but I am assured by my parents that even then, I was decked out in a claret and blue scarf.
"As well as being a supporter of The Rams down through the years, I also played for the club from u17 to u21 level and subsequently filled the position of Strength and Conditioning Coach here back in 2017.
"So, my heart is very much so with this club and I love being part of its progress.
“It's a very exciting opportunity to lead the club's football social responsibility and community engagement strategy.
"Out-reach, partnership development and sports advocacy is what I am passionate about, and this will allow us to drive meaningful initiatives which align with the club's mission and values."
CEO, Deanna Brown confirmed the appointment and said they were looking forward to working with Trevor.
“We look forward to Trevor’s leadership in this role and to furthering our mission of making football a force for good within the Cobh community. "Exciting times at the club at the moment and long may it continue.”
