It's another busy weekend for all three Cork clubs in the Women’s Super League with The Address UCC Glanmire and Gurranabraher Credit Union Brunell both having crucial home games.
Glanmire were buoyant last weekend when coming away from Killester with a win and it was also the perfect debut for new American Trinity Oliver.
Oliver replaced Callie Cavanaugh and showed her team what they have been missing with a game high 23- point contribution.
The second Glanmire American Deljanae Williams also played her part when knocking down 16 points and this will be an interesting match up against a side who play on the edge.
The biggest plus for the Glanmire coach Mark Scannell was the 39 points contribution he got from his Irish players.
In this campaign the Glanmire Irish players haven’t been doing the business but that can happen when your American duo are not performing on a consistent basis.
Getting the right combination with your professionals is a must but the biggest problem for Glanmire in the last few years is that some clubs are paying far bigger wages to attract players to the league.
Just like UCC Demons in the Men’s Super League the Glanmire budget is tighter than most and credit to both of them they do well to attract quality players.

Portlaoise Panthers have been competitive all season and have a talented American duo in Jessica Fressle and Alyssa Marie Velles.
Amy Dooley who donned the Glanmire colours for four years is also in their squad but surely if the Cork side are in the right mind frame they will secure the points.
Gurranabraher Credit Union Brunell welcome leaders Waterford Wildcats for a crucial clash at the GCU Arena on Sunday.
Brunell bounced back in style last weekend when winning on the road against Trinity Meteors and this will be another test of their character.
The Brunell American Deaja Richardson chipped in with 31 points against Meteors bur her fellow professional Trinity Hudson could only chip in with 10 points in 40 minutes of action.
Hudson tends to rely on playing outside the arc but when you play a team like Wildcats you have got to be prepared to battle hard at the post and on the boards.
Edel Thornton has been inspirational throughout her career for Brunell and although not back to her best following her ACL injury she still managed to put up 18 points in their win over Trinity Meteors.
This game will hinge on how the Brunell Irish players perform but if they bring their A game to the table they have every chance of toppling the leaders.
Catalyst Fr Mathew’s fresh from a home drubbing to Liffey Celtics have another difficult task tomorrow when they travel to play Killester.
Coach Keith Daly has been using many inexperienced players in recent weeks with stalwarts Grainne and Niamh Dwyer coming off the bench.
Killester lost at home last weekend and surely they will not allow Mathew’s deny them the points on this occasion.
