Cork show their true collars as new jersey is launched

Cork players Colm O'Callaghan, Chris Kelly, Brian Hayes, Daniel O'Mahony and Alan Connolly in the new kit.
A return to a collar for the first time in a decade is the main flourish on the new Cork jersey, which was launched on Thursday.
To be worn for the next two years, the shirt is understated and minimalist, intended to hark back to that worn in the early 1990s, prior to the design explosion that followed.
There are some subtle elements to it, though, such as a historic map of Cork city, including the suburb of Blackrock and Ballintemple, where SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh is located.
Sports Direct are once again the main sponsor while, for the first time, Cork have a sleeve sponsor, with that real estate taken up by McCarthy Insurance Group, who already sponsor the county football leagues and championships.
The goalkeeper jersey returns to a plain white offering, with hoops having been in use for the last iteration.
Kevin O’Donovan, CEO of Cork GAA, said@ “The launch of our new jersey is always an exciting time for the organisation and we are really happy with the design of the 2025 jersey. The collar and the old map are a nod to the long tradition that Cork GAA has in Cork and we hope it resonates with all our supporters - young and old.
"I would like to thank Sports Direct for their continued support of Cork GAA and we look forward to seeing the jerseys on display in stores around Cork.”

The new launch online and in stores from October 24. Fans can purchase the new home jersey in Sports Direct stores and on http://www.sportsdirect.com/ exclusively for three weeks.
