Cork City Women hoping to end their losing streak against Wexford

Cork City Women will try and snap their four-match losing streak in the Women's Premier Division when they face Wexford FC this Saturday at Turner's Cross (Kick-off 5pm).
This will be Danny Murphy and his players third outing in eight days, and it follows defeats to title contenders Athlone Town and Galway United.
Their midweek meeting with the Tribeswoman was the hardest one to take and they team trailed 2-0 inside three minutes.
It started in the 40th second when Rolake Olusola ran through and put the ball beyond the reach of Una Foyle at the Shed End.
Republic of Ireland senior international Julie Ann-Russell doubled their lead and Emily Kavanaugh hit the back of the net for 3-0.
What was supposed to be the moment that really killed the game off galvanised City, and they went on to pull two goals back at the end of the first half.
Colleen Kennedy O'Connell set the first one up, and it was an audacious cross by Eva Mangan that dropped in over Jessica Berlin.
The Rebel Army then pushed up and created room for Barrett Eidson to curl in at the St Anne's Ends.

It was 3-2 at half-time and any hope of a comeback that would have played havoc with the race for the title ended with Russell getting her second and a well worked set piece that involved an Olusola cross getting tapped in at the near post by Isabella Beletic.
City will try and make amends on Saturday, against a Wexford team that just lost Ellen Molloy to FA Women’s Championship side Sheffield United.
The midfielder scored 47 goals during her time in the south-east, which led to six senior Republic of Ireland caps.
Despite this loss, Wexford are in fine form and they will travel to Turner’s Cross looking to extend their three match unbeaten run.
Their most recent game was with a title chasing Galway United side at Ferrycarrig Park and it finished 1-1.
Kylie Murphy opened the scoring that day in the 27th minute and the Tribeswoman equalised at the end of the first half with an own goal from Nicola Sinnott.
That result could prove to be damaging to Galway’s chances of winning the league at the end of the season, as it meant they ceded ground to Shelbourne and Athlone Town, two teams that won well last weekend.
Wexford also backed up their form by going the distance with Shamrock Rovers in the Women’s FAI Cup at Tallaght Stadium.
The Hoops’ went full-strength for that meeting in the first round, with their team including a mix of senior and underage Republic of Ireland internationals.
Aine O’Gorman was one of those and she missed a penalty in the 12th minute, and she set up Melissa O’Kane to make it 1-0.
Molloy equalised and Wexford hung on to force a shoot-out that finished 6-5 to Shamrock Rovers.
An even game awaits City, which means anything could happen on Saturday at Turner’s Cross.
