McSharry into 50m breaststroke semi-finals, Wiffen in 1500m freestyle final

Mona McSharry is through to the 50-metres breaststroke semi-finals at the European Aquatics Championships in Paris.

The Sligo swimmer - who already has silver and bronze medals to her name this week - won her heat on Saturday morning.

Tom Fannon will return to the pool for the men's 50 metres freestyle semi-finals on Saturday evening.

Ellen Walshe will be involved in two races later on Saturday night.

The recently crowned European 400 metres individual medley champion is in the 200 metres individual medley final and the 200 metres butterfly semi-finals.

Daniel Wiffen has the opportunity to win his first medal of the championships in the 1500 metres freestyle final.
