St Finbarr’s have completed their group programme of the SE Systems Cork Senior Camogie Championship with three wins from three, following last Saturday’s comprehensive victory over Glen Rovers at Castle Road.

Glen Rovers were restricted to two points in the opening half, but to their credit, their defence tightened up before the interval, as they denied the Togher side a second goal.

Scores from play were at a premium for the Blackpool side after the break as they pointed three frees. Emma Murphy got Glen Rovers’ goal with the game’s final action, following a long-range free by Leanne O’Sullivan.

Orlaith Cahalane and Sorcha McCartan gave St Finbarr’s a two-point adavantage before Emma Murphy opened the Blackpool side’s account with a point from play in the tenth minute.

Keeva McCarthy slotted over a third point from play for the Togher side, before Emma Murphy converted the game’s first free for Glen Rovers.

Entering the second quarter, St Finbarr’s had the Blackpool side pinned back as Orlaith Cahalane drilled home the game’s opening goal from a 20-metre free.

St Finbarr’s tagged on six unanswered points, including two from frees as they led 1-9 to 0-2 at the interval.
