All-Ireland winning Cork manager Matthew Twomey has been named camogie's PwC Manager of the Year.

Twomey stepped down this month having led Cork to success over Waterford in this year's final, having suffered final defeats in his two previous years in charge.

Camogie Association Uachtarán Hilda Breslin said: "Sincere congratulations to Matthew Twomey on his outstanding achievements and for being an exemplary figure as Manager of the Cork Camogie team.

"His ability to inspire and motivate his team, coupled with his unwavering commitment, truly sets him apart as a deserving winner of the PwC Camogie Manager of the Year.

"I would like to wish Matthew the very best in his future endeavours."

Matthew will be presented with his award at the PwC All-Stars Awards Ceremony in Croke Park on 4th November where several of Cork's All-Ireland winning team are expected to win All Star awards.

Amy O'Connor and Saoirse McCarthy are vying for player of the year honours, with Amy expected to get the nod over her team mate.
