Steele’s clean sweep makes club history for Douglas Gymnastics Club while Ryan picked up three medals

TWO members of the Douglas Gymnastics Club in Cork were the stars of the show at the recent Gymnastics Ireland National Series Super Championships event held in the National Indoor Arena in Dublin.

In the Men’s Artistic competition, European Championship Competitor Adam Steele of Douglas GC, created history by completing a clean sweep by taking six gold medals on the Floor, Pommel Horse, High Bar, Parallel Bars, Vault and Rings.

Meg Ryan (15), also from Douglas GC, who was recently selected for the European Youth Olympics, also competed in the Gymnastics Ireland National Series Super Championships. 

Ryan ended the day with three medals. She claimed Gold (Vault), Silver (A-Bars) & Gold (Beam).

Both Douglas gymnasts were among nearly 500 gymnasts from all ages and disciplines competing at this flagship event.
