WATERFORD forward Pauric Mahony has been ruled out of the Munster semi-final against Cork on Saturday week.
The Déise captain will miss the winter inter-county season with a knee injury, which is a major blow to manager Liam Cahill.
Mahony is Waterford's free-taker and was in typically deadly form for Ballygunner when they recently retained the club title down east.
Waterford GAA said: “Pauric Mahony will miss the 2020 season due to a knee injury. Liam Cahill, his team and all in Waterford GAA would like to wish Pauric a speedy and full recovery.”
Cork are missing a marquee hurler of their own, with Colm Spillane damaging his hand in Castlelyons' county final loss to Blarney.
