Tuesday will start cold, with mist, fog, and some frost before it clears, giving a mostly dry day with good spells of sunshine and highs of 9C to 12C.
It will stay dry tonight, with a mix of cloud and clear spells and the odd isolated light shower; however, it will be cold, with lows of -1C to 5C.
Wednesday then will see frost and mist clear through the morning and early afternoon to give a mainly dry, bright day with plenty of sunshine.
It will be a little cloudier at times too, with a few light showers, especially later in the day.
There will be more of a breeze compared to most days, but temperatures will range between 9C to 12C during the day.
The Tuesday morning commute is already starting to see tailbacks down the M8 southbound at 7.15am, a kilometre from the Dunkettle Interchange.
On the R579, heavy traffic is present at the cut-off to the Carrigrohane Road.
Parts of the city are also starting to see slow-moving traffic, especially at Dennehy's Cross and the N20.
Magazine Road remains closed to facilitate road works.
Similar conditions to Tuesday night will follow Wednesday night, with lows of 0C to 6C, with some frost under clear spells.
It will be less cold in the south.
While there will still be bright or sunny spells on Thursday, there will be more cloud than earlier in the week.
Predominantly dry conditions will persist, with some scattered showers which will feed in from the east at times.
Friday then will once again bring plenty of dry weather with just some scattered showers.
While there will likely be a good deal of cloud, there will be some bright or sunny spells.
