Three bottles of perfume were stolen at the Cork Airport duty-free outlet and now the woman responsible for the shoplifting has been given a five-month suspended sentence.
Fiona Connolly, aged 37, of 3 Sexton Street, Abbeyside, Dungarvan, County Waterford, pleaded guilty to the theft at Cork District Court. Sgt John Dineen said: “On July 16, 2025, at the duty-free shop, Cork Airport, she stole three bottles of perfume with a total value of €351.”
She had 45 previous convictions, including six counts of theft.
Eddie Burke, solicitor, said the accused had come under psychiatric care and was on a monthly depot injection to deal with her issues in that regard.
When the suspended sentence was imposed, the defendant said: “Thank you for that.”
