Ghouls Aloud - chilling out at Malloween festival at Mallow Castle.

Families from across the county are invited to celebrate a free afternoon of spooky fun, thrills and chills in the grounds of Mallow Castle this Bank Howliday Moanday.

The early bank holiday means Malloween comes well before Halloween this year, but organisers promise it will be spooktacular for all of that.

Running from 4pm to 7pm, the Mallow Castle Haunted Walk will transform the castle grounds into a Halloween wonderland filled with creepy decorations, mysterious encounters, live actors, presumably, and a haunting atmosphere.

Visitors are encouraged to come dressed in their favourite Halloween costumes and enjoy a guided journey through the castle grounds, where surprises await around every corner.

The family-friendly event promises plenty of seasonal excitement while showcasing one of North Cork's most iconic heritage sites in a unique and entertaining way.

Combining Halloween fun with the rich history and setting of Mallow Castle, Malloween has become a popular fixture in the local events calendar.

Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Bernard Moynihan, encouraged families to come along and enjoy the festivities.

“Malloween is a fantastic community event that brings families together to enjoy Halloween in the unique surroundings of Mallow Castle,” he said.

“It offers a wonderful opportunity for children and adults alike to experience this historic site in a fun and imaginative way.

“I would encourage families from across Cork to come along, dress up, and enjoy what promises to be a memorable evening of entertainment."

As part of the event, a dedicated autism-friendly hour will take place from 4pm to 5pm. During this time, background music will be switched off, and actors will only engage with visitors if approached, ensuring a more relaxed and inclusive experience for all attendees.

The Haunted Walk is suitable for wheelchairs and buggies, helping to ensure that as many people as possible can enjoy the experience.

Admission is free, and no booking is required.

Free Parking is available in Cork County Council car parks in Mallow Town.
