The Planet Entertainment Centre in Cork city is seeking planning permission to construct a new indoor padel courts complex.

The application, submitted by Planet Leisure Ltd, is seeking to construct the new padel complex at the existing Planet Health Club centre on the Old Mallow Road in Blackpool.

The new courts complex, consisting of three courts, would be constructed on the grounds of the existing health club, with revisions made to the existing parking configuration.

In the plans submitted to Cork City Council, Planet Leisure Ltd outlines how the construction of the complex would also see the introduction of 19 new car parking spaces, and the retention of 22 car parking spaces.

Provisions would also be made for four disability car parking spaces.

The covered courts complex would consist of two double courts, spanning approximately 2,152 sq ft each, and one single court, spanning approximately 1,291 sq ft.

Cork City Council is due to make a decision on the planning application by December 3.
