A rock was allegedly thrown at a man who was having a cigarette on the balcony of his apartment in the early hours of the morning, striking his head, and now a 28-year-old has pleaded guilty to assault causing harm.
Kyle Griffen, of Meadow Lodge, Monard, Cork, appeared at Cork District Court to indicate if he was signing a plea of guilty or if a book of evidence would be necessary. His solicitor, Killian McCarthy, said that Mr Griffen was pleading guilty.
He signed the guilty plea to assault causing harm on May 4. It was alleged that in the early hours of that morning, a rock was thrown at the man when he was having a cigarette on the balcony of his apartment at Wandesford Quay, Cork.
On the application of Sergeant David Fleming, Judge David Waters sent the case forward for sentencing at the sessions of Cork Circuit Criminal Court commencing on October 27.
