Irish artists The Stunning, The Boomtown Rats, Mundy, and the Rory Gallagher tribute band Moonchild have all been named in the line-up for this year’s Guinness Cork Jazz Festival.
The festival, set to take place across a range of venues from October 22-26, will feature several of Cork’s best homegrown acts, as well as performances from groups all around the world.
The Cork City Hall Series will also return, running from October 23–25, with tickets already on sale.
The latest additions to the programme include Cork singer-songwriter Tomás McCarthy, and ska/punk cover band Pontious Pilate & The Naildrivers, who will join The Boomtown Rats on the Saturday.
Meanwhile, Mundy has also been confirmed as a special guest for The Stunning on Friday.
The Rory Gallagher tribute band, Moonchild will then perform at Cork City Hall on Sunday, and will be followed by Mack Fleetwood, Europe’s premier Fleetwood Mac tribute act, which will conclude the festivities.
Cork City Hall Series organiser Tom Keating said the countdown to the festival is now well underway.
“The whole weekend is shaping up to be something very special, bringing together some of the biggest names in Irish music alongside artists with strong Cork connections, all in the unique surroundings of Cork City Hall,” said Mr Keating.
This year’s festival marks 48 years of Cork Jazz.
