Rochestown native named Cork Person on the Month for July

Killian Daly has been named Cork Person of the Month for July in recognition of his work promoting the development of clean energy.
Mr Daly is the executive director of non-profit organisation EnergyTag and the only Irish participant in the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leader Class of 2026.
From Rochestown, he attended Presentation Brothers College, University College Cork, University of Cambridge and Paris’s Collège des Ingénieurs.
He said: “I am humbled to receive this recognition from my home county.
“The lessons, support, and community spirit I experienced growing up in Rochestown and attending Presentation Brothers College and UCC continue to guide my approach to tackling the major challenges the globe is facing today.”
Awards organiser Manus O’Callaghan said: “Killian is a visionary whose work is playing an enormous role in creating a more sustainable future.
“By accelerating the transition towards renewable energy, he is building a vital legacy for future generations to inherit.”
