The song Keep On Movin’ is without a doubt one of the boy band Five’s best known hits and it also describes the vibe of the crowd at Wednesday night’s Live at the Marquee gig.

It was great to see the full original line-up of Jay Brown, Sean Conlon, Ritchie Neville, Scott Robinson, and Abz Love, which after nearly 30 years doesn’t happen too often these days with groups.

They came on stage with a bang to Everybody Get Up and the crowd went wild for them.

It was a one-and-a-half hour show and they took no time to get into their groove as they blasted out hit after hit including Until the End of Time and Got the Feelin’.

With a full live band behind them it was like a karaoke session with the audience really loving the show and singing their songs back to them. It was like time stood still and I was back in the late 1990s and 20-something again.

The first half of the concert was packed with hits including Shake and When the Lights Go Out, which were met by loud screams from the crowd.

The group also showed their softer aside, performing ballads such as Closer to Me and Until the Time is Through.

They had great interaction with the crowd and they seemed genuinely happy to be just doing their thing.

In between songs they reminisced and reflected on their personal struggles, mental health challenges, and they told of their decision to reunite. Jay, in particular, said that times had been tough and now turning 50 in the last few weeks he was having the best time of his life. At times, it was very emotional listening.

Unlike most boy bands of their time they all take turns on the lead vocals with Ritchie, Sean, and Scott singing and Abz and Jay taking care of the rap, it really was a great blend of vocal talent. For guys nearing middle age their voices were still very strong and they are still looking very good.

They were still gettin’ down and bustin’ very impressive dance moves like they were in their 20s for the whole concert.

The night ended with the banger Keep On Movin and crowd did literally dance till the lights went out. I can honestly say I left the Marquee buzzing and with high hopes that they make new music and continue touring for many years to come. I for one would definitely be running to buy a ticket to their next concert. All in all a five-star experience.
