Man, 40s, dies following collision between motorbike and car near Mitchelstown
A technical examination of the scene was carried out, and the road has since been reopened.
A man has died following a collision involving a motorcycle and a car in Cork yesterday afternoon.
The incident happened at around 1.40pm on the N73 near Mitchelstown.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has since been taken to Cork University Hospital, where an autopsy will take place in due course. The coroner has also been notified.
The female driver of the car, a woman in her 30s, was taken to Tipperary University Hospital in Clonmel as a precaution.
Gardaí say no other injuries have been reported.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed this collision to come forward.
Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N73 near Mitchelstown, on Sunday June 21 2026, between 1.00pm and 2.00pm, are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí.
