This year, Cruinniú na nÓg takes place on Saturday, June 6. The all-island festival will host free events across the island, celebrating creativity through music, art, circus, storytelling, film and more.
Ireland is the only country in the world to have a national day acclaiming young people’s creativity. Creative Ireland invites young people to explore something new, unleash their creative spark, and be part of this unique celebration of creativity and expression.
Libraries across the country, and across the city, will mark Cruinniú na nÓg on Saturday.
In Ballincollig Library, a workshop on creative writing, for children who love making up stories and letting their imaginations soar, will be hosted by Carmel Kelly. It will run from 11am to midday, and is open to children aged seven to 12.
In Bishopstown Library, an origami workshop, teaching the ancient Japanese artform, will be held by Sachinko Kobayashi. For children aged seven to 12, it will run from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.
