Books of evidence due on two accused of criminal damage at Collins Aerospace in Cork

Both defendants are charged with committing an offence of burglary contrary to the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act 2001, at Collins Aerospace, Penrose Wharf, Penrose Quay, Cork, on Monday October 13, 2025.

Books of evidence will be served on June 29 on two people facing charges arising out of the investigation of a hatchet and spray paint attack on Collins Aerospace, Cork, as part of a Palestine-related protest.

Sergeant John Dineen said the books of evidence would be served next month.

The sergeant said the DPP had decided that guilty pleas could be entered at Cork District Court for sentencing at Cork Circuit Criminal Court.

Defence solicitor Frank Buttimer, who represented both defendants, said that books of evidence would be required.

Judge John King adjourned the cases until June 29, with the two defendants remanded on continuing bail.

Luke Myers, aged 30, of Maple Rd, Ard Na Gréine, Milltown, Co Kerry, and 27-year-old Kellie McConnell of Toner House, Sidmonton Place, Bray, Co Wicklow, appeared together in Cork District Court, with up to 20 people supporting them.

The particulars of the charge state that, having entered a building as trespassers, they committed an arrestable offence, to wit criminal damage therein.
