Overnight water supply disruption warning for large parts of Cork city’s southside next week

Uisce Éireann warned that the works are likely to cause some disruption to local water supplies in the surrounding areas.

A wide area of Cork city’s southside may suffer overnight water supply disruptions this week, Uisce Éireann has warned.

The water utility company said leak detection works are scheduled to begin at 11.30pm on Monday night, May 25, running until 5.30am the following morning, Tuesday, May 26.

Uisce Éireann warned that the works are likely to cause some disruption to local water supplies in the surrounding areas.

According to the company, the works may cause water supply disruptions to St Patrick’s Rd, Friar’s Rd, Mountpleasant Avenue, Mount Pleasant Rd, Friar’s Walk, Derrynane Rd, Connolly Rd, Tory Top Rd, Doyle Rd, Congress Rd, Deerpark Mews, Evergreen Rd, Maiville Terrace, Fr Mathew Rd, O’Connell Avenue, St. Annes Park, Beaufort Park, Curragh Rd, Mercier Park, Kent Rd, Botanic Rd, Hyde Park, and surrounding areas in Cork city.

Uisce Éireann said it recommended that the public should allow three to four hours after the estimated restoration time for water supply to fully return.
