The Cork Midsummer Festival has been awarded a €12,000 grant for its Midsummer Youth Assembly programme, which supports young artists to develop skills in creative producing and performance.
The charity was awarded the grant by the Regional Creatives Fund Ireland, which has been launched by US tech giant Amazon.
The festival uses the city as a stage in creative collaborations that connect art with audiences, and artists with communities.
The charity’s Midsummer Youth Assembly is a creative upskilling programme for aspiring artists from underrepresented backgrounds in Cork.
Established last year in partnership with Cork Migrant Centre and YMCA Cork, it focuses on nurturing artistic expression and creating opportunities for young artists aged between 16 and 25.
The 2026 programme will culminate in a high-profile, youth-led showcase at Cork Midsummer Festival on June 20 in Fitzgerald’s Park.
