Highs of up to 24C and humid conditions are expected today before rain starts moving into parts of Munster later on in the day.
Met Éireann says this week will see mixed conditions with showers or longer spells of rain at times, with temperatures in the high teens to low 20s.
It will be mostly dry today, and after a cloudy start, some sunny spells are set to develop in the afternoon.
Overnight, conditions will be cloudy with rain, drizzle and mist spreading southwards early on, becoming lighter and patchier.
Drier conditions will follow towards morning, according to the national forecaster, and it will be mild with lowest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in light to moderate westerly breezes.
It will be a generally cloudy to start tomorrow with "the odd light shower around".
It will brighten up through the afternoon with some sunny spells developing and scattered showers "will feed in from the west" and it will be cooler than recent days with highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees in light to moderate westerly breezes.
The national outlook for the week states that mixed conditions with showers or longer spells of rain at times are in store.
Meanwhile, current traffic reports indicate that there are no delays on the N40, M28 or other routes approaching Cork.
However, TII Ireland said those approaching Dublin on the M1 and M3 are facing delays on Monday morning.
