Sentencing of man who confessed to having drugs at Cork storage unit adjourned
Judge Helen Boyle adjourned sentencing because the court was other occupied today and the matter could not be reached.
A 45-year-old man who confessed to having over €70,000 worth of drugs stashed in a commercial storage unit at Monahan Road back in 2024 had sentencing in his case adjourned today until June 25.
Andrzej Jasiniecki who resides at an apartment at Hewitt Hall, Blackpool, Cork, signed a plea of guilty to five counts under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Detective Garda Robert Kennedy brought the charges against the 45-year-old, the most serious count stating that on July 31, 2024, at a unit of Boxed Storage, Monahan Road, Cork, he had in in his possession cannabis and amphetamine for the purpose of sale or supply with the drugs had a market value in excess of €13,000.
The significance of that valuation is that can carry a 10-year sentence unless there are exceptional circumstances.
The actual valuation of the drugs was €60,000 for the cannabis and €13,000 for the amphetamine.
