The Cork Summer Show will take place in June, with new events and improved traffic management.
Munster’s longest-running agricultural showcase will return to the Cork Showgrounds in Curraheen on June 20 and 21.
New additions will include the Agri Aware Talks and Demonstration Marquee, which will feature a live farm experience with milking cows, machinery demonstrations, and interactive learning focused on sustainability.
Competitions will be held in livestock and equestrian events, horticulture, art, and traditional craftsmanship.
The Cork Re-enactment Military Show will perform, as will an RSA Education Truck, and Tug of War Ireland event.
There will be chick hatchings, tractor shows, baking classes, and pony experiences, and with rabbits and guinea pigs in the poultry marquee.
Some 40,000 people are expected to attend the 200 events and attractions, so organisers are encouraging visitors to plan ahead.
Bus Éireann will extend and redirect the 208 to bring visitors to and from the showgrounds every 10-20 minutes, with free shuttle bus services, additional park-and-ride options, and an expanded parking capacity.
The free shuttle buses will run throughout the weekend from Ballincollig Shopping Centre, Black Ash Park & Ride, Curraheen Greyhound Stadium, and MTU’s Bishopstown campus. The president of the Munster Agricultural Society, Gerard Murphy, said: “A huge amount of work has gone in to improving the overall visitor experience, particularly when it comes to getting people to and from the event.
“With enhanced transport options, additional parking, and direct bus access to the showgrounds, we’re making it easier than ever for people to plan their day,” said Mr Murphy.
“This year’s show promises a fantastic line-up celebrating the very best of farming, food and family entertainment, and we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back this June.”
Early bird tickets are available until May 11, with discounted family and group tickets also on offer at www.corksummershow.com.
