Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal single vehicle road traffic incident in Cork city.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal single vehicle road traffic incident in Cork city.

The incident occurred at the Sarsfield Roundabout, Wilton, Cork city, yesterday, Wednesday.

The incident, involving a car, occurred at approximately 1.50pm.

The driver, a man aged in his 50’s, was taken to Cork University Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

The scene was preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

The road has since reopened.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 1pm and 2pm on Wednesday December 3 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
