Man due in court today in connection with Cork bank robbery
A man in his 40s has been charged and is due to appear in court today.
A man in his 40s has been charged in connection with a bank robbery in Cork.
Gardaí received report of a robbery, which occurred at a bank in Douglas on Wednesday, at approximately 2pm.
It is understood that the man entered the Bank of Ireland premises in the Douglas Shopping Centre unarmed, and presented a hand-written note to a cashier before fleeing the scene with €6,000 in stolen cash.
A garda spokesperson said no injuries were reported in relation to the robbery, and that the man will appear before Cork City District Court today.
“A male aged in his 40s was arrested on November 19, has been charged, and is due to appear before Cork City District Court, Court 1 today,” the spokesperson said.
"As this matter is now before the courts, An Garda Síochána is not in a position to comment.”
