One man has been arrested after gardaí discovered a quantity of guns, explosives, and ammunition at a house in Douglas yesterday evening.

Cocaine, three guns, and ammunition were found in the car when it was stopped by gardaí at Lisanisky, Mallow, after 10pm on Tuesday.
Gardaí discovered firearms, ammunition, and explosives at a house in Douglas yesterday evening.
The army explosive ordnance disposal unit was in attendance at the house to assist with the search.
A man was arrested and was being questioned by gardaí.

Cocaine, three guns, and ammunition were found in the car when it was stopped by gardaí at Lisanisky, Mallow, after 10pm on Tuesday.
Late on Tuesday night, members of An Garda Síochána observed the vehicle “acting suspiciously” while they were on duty in the Lissanisky area along the Mallow Rd.
A Garda spokesperson told The Echo that following this observation, the driver was stopped, and a subsequent search of the vehicle took place.
As a result of the search, gardaí discovered and seized a quantity of cocaine, along with three suspected firearms and ammunition.
The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 40s, was arrested and taken to a garda station in Cork. The man, who is originally from Cork City, was detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
He can be held for up to 72 hours.
The Garda spokesperson additionally said that “inquiries are ongoing at this time, and further developments will be reported”.
