Preparations are underway for the most wonderful time of the year as Cork City Council announces the return of Corkmas, the city’s annual Christmas celebration.

From 14 November to 31 December 2025, Corkmas includes a parade, Christmas Markets, Santa Experience and the return of the ferris wheel on Grand Parade.

Key dates include the Corkmas parade from 7pm to 8pm on 14 November, opening of the festive markets on Emmett Place on 21 November and the opening of the Santa Experience and Ferris wheel on 28 November.

Returning for its second year, the parade will feature floats, marching bands, performers, and a visit from Santa Claus, marking the traditional switching on of Cork’s Christmas lights.

Families can then enjoy the Christmas Market and Santa Experience at Emmett Place, open Thursday to Sunday offering festive food and handmade gifts.

Meanwhile, the iconic ferris wheel and vintage carousel will return to Grand Parade from 28 November, offering views of the city.

Lord Mayor of Cork, Fergal Dennehy, said: “There’s a special kind of magic in Cork at Christmas, a warmth and togetherness that makes the city truly shine. Corkmas brings people of all ages into the heart of the city to celebrate what makes this time of year so special.

“It’s about community, connection, and supporting the local businesses, artists and craftspeople who help keep Cork’s festive spirit alive. Merry Corkmas, one and all!”

Adding to the festive atmosphere, a packed programme of free family-friendly events and live music performances will bring the city centre to life through December, with more details to be revealed in the coming weeks.
