Judge Mary Dorgan remanded him on bail to appear again at Cork District Court on November 17.

Sergeant Aisling Murphy said that on October 12 gardaí received a call to Lehenagh Beg following report of a group of males attempting to gain access to vehicles.

Sgt Murphy said a group ran away from patrol car and in the area a stolen vehicle had lights on with the engine running.

Paul Hegarty was stopped after a short foot pursuit. It is alleged that he had €588 cash in his pocket with a key and gift card.

The stolen property charge refers only to a key and gift card. No offence is alleged in relation to the cash to which reference was made in the outline of the allegations.
