A motorist in Cork has been arrested for driving under the influence of an intoxicant, without tax, insurance, NCT and with drugs in the vehicle.
Gardaí from the Cork City Roads Policing Unit stopped a motorist yesterday on Albert Quay after it was found they were operating their vehicle without active insurance, tax or NCT.
Upon stopping the motorist, it was found that their tax had expired 107 days ago, and the driver was operating their vehicle under the influence of drugs, with amphetamines discovered in the car.
In a post shared on social media, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána in Cork said the motorist provided “the all inclusive package”.
“Some cars come with heated seats and alloy wheels, this one came with no tax, no insurance, no NCT, [a] positive drug test, drugs found, [and] the car [was] taken off the road,” the spokesperson said.
“The all inclusive package included a free lift to the station and a day out in court, courtesy of [the] Cork City Roads Policing [Unit].
“Moral of the story, don’t roll the dice when it comes to road safety.”
