A Cork store has officially re-opened to the public following a €2m investment.

O’Leary’s SuperValu in Tower reopened its newly revamped, state-of-the-art store this week, which has been serving the Kilnamucky community for more than 20 years, across three generations.

The store employs a total of 120 employees, which will work across the chain’s newly updated bakery, deli, off-licence, food-to-go counter, butchery, freshly prepared area, and its new expanded ranges such as the Clonakilty Gluten Free Kitchen, Donnybrook Fair, Mercato Italiano and The Happy Pear.

With a focus on sustainability, the store now incorporates energy-efficient refrigeration, LED lighting and 373 solar panels, which together deliver an average 20% reduction in emissions.

These initiatives highlight Supervalu’s commitment to environmentally responsible retailing.

Paddy O’Leary, who is the store owner, said they are “delighted to welcome customers back to our new-look store after months of planning and hard work”.

“This €2m investment reflects our commitment to delivering the very best shopping experience, with new ranges, upgraded services, and a strong focus on sustainability,” said Mr O’Leary.

“We’re proud to continue serving this community that has supported us for more than 20 years, and we look forward to sharing this new chapter with them.”

Since opening its doors in 2003, O’Leary’s SuperValu Tower has been a proud supporter of local initiatives, backing schools, charities, and sports organisations.

The store is the main sponsor of Inniscarra GAA and Blarney United and continues to work closely with community groups such as the Tower Association.

The store also supports the local Tidy Towns committee and works closely with the Tower Community Association.
