Irish magician and escapologist Steve Spade is set to perform in East Cork this month.

Mr Spade, who was the winner of the 2023 Merlin Award for Outstanding Magic and Escapology, will take to the stage at Sea Church in Ballycotton on October 18.

As the only certified Irish escape artist/magician and member of the Society of American Magicians, Mr Spade’s performance promises to offer audiences a chance to witness some unique and dangerous tricks, including being burnt alive, underwater escapes and predicting headlines.

The Cork show comes as part of Spade’s ‘Lost Magic’ tour of Ireland and the UK.

Events manager with Sea Church, Matthew Sisk said they are “thrilled to welcome Steve Spade to Ballycotton”.

“We are all extremely excited about his coming performance,, given Steve’s extraordinary talent,” said Mr Sisk.

“His reputation speaks for itself and for people who were lucky enough to secure tickets already — prepare to be stunned.”

Mr Spade said that he is “really looking forward to the show at Sea Church”.

“Having seen the beautiful and unique venue space, I think it will provide the perfect atmosphere for my Halloween themed night,” said Mr Spade.

“It’s always great to bring shows back home to Ireland and, as a Limerick native, it’s fantastic to visit neighbouring Cork and engage with audiences in such a great setting.”

Attendees will also have the option of using the Sea Church Express, a return shuttle service to Ballycotton, which departs from Cobh and then passes through Midleton, Cloyne, as well as Shanagarry.

The service brings people to Ballycotton 90 minutes before showtime and leaves 30 minutes after the show ends.
