A man has been taken to hospital after a reported shooting in Limerick.

Gardaí said they responded to reports of the discharge of a firearm at a premises in Hyde Road at about 4.30pm on Sunday.

A man in his 60s was injured at the scene.

He was taken to University Hospital Limerick to be treated for injuries.

A Garda spokeswoman said on Sunday evening: “The scene is currently held for examination.”
