The national forecaster has said that Cork, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, and Waterford can expect heavy spells of rain from tomorrow.

Met Éireann has issued two status yellow rain warnings for 14 counties including Cork.

The national forecaster has said that Cork, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, and Waterford can expect heavy spells of rain from tomorrow, with the warning extending to Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford, and Tipperary from Saturday.

The earlier warning, impacting six counties, will come into effect from 2pm on Friday, and will remain in effect until midnight on Saturday.

The second warning, impacting 14 counties, will come into effect from midnight on Saturday, and will remain in effect until midnight on Sunday.

As a result of the forecasted weather, possible impacts include difficult travelling conditions, poor visibility and localised flooding.

These latest warnings come following a previous status yellow rain warning, issued for five counties including Cork on Tuesday, which stayed in effect until 3am on Wednesday.
