One of the drivers, a man in his 20s, was brought to Cork University Hospital (CUH) with life-threatening injuries

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a two-vehicle road traffic collision in North Cork this morning left two men in hospital, one with life-threatening injuries.

The two-vehicle occurred at Ballyvorisheen, on the N73 near Mallow, at approximately 7.30am.

One of the drivers, a man in his 20s, was brought to Cork University Hospital (CUH) with life-threatening injuries.

The other driver, a man in his 30s was conveyed to CUH with injuries not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

Gardaí have asked anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.

A garda spokesperson said: “Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling on the N73 between Mallow and Mitchelstown this morning between 7.15am and 8.15am are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.” Gardaí can be contacted at Mallow Garda Station on 022 31450, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.

The garda spokesperson added that investigations were ongoing.
