A Dromina woman has taken part in a daring wing walk in aid of the CUH Oncology Unit and BUMBLEance.

Molly Jones, who completed the feat in Northamptonshire, England, last Friday, has so far raised more €2,280 through the escapade.

She said it was a “thrilling adventure that is not just about the adrenaline but about giving back to two exceptional causes — the CUH Oncology Unit and BUMBLEance”

“These charities hold a special place in my heart. Over the years, they have provided unwavering support to my family and friends during times of need.

“The CUH Oncology Unit is dedicated to offering compassionate care and advanced treatments to individuals facing cancer, while BUMBLEance serves as a comforting and fun ambulance service specifically designed for children,” said Ms Jones.

“By supporting my fundraiser, you are contributing to the incredible organisations that offer vital services to countless families in Ireland.

“Your generosity will aid the CUH Oncology Unit in continuing their groundbreaking treatment efforts and help BUMBLEance provide joyful ambulance rides to young patients in need of medical transport.”

BUMBLEance provides lifechanging journeys, allowing access to lifesaving care for hundreds of children each year.

The BUMBLEance drivers operate a fleet located across the country, ensuring personalised and localised support to each family that avails of the service.

Each vehicle offers a break from the outside world with sensory lighting, child-friendly decor, entertainment, and seats for parents and siblings.

A spokesperson for BUMBLEance said that providing the free service reduces the worry and anxiety for parents of sick children.

“We support the whole family and take away the worries of parking, tolls, and comfort, letting parents focus on what they do best — care for their child,” the spokesperson said.
