Leaving Cert: 10 students at Cork school get maximum points

At Coláiste Eamann Rís in Turner’s Cross, students came into school after getting their results to celebrate together with their friends and teachers.
Principal Aaron Wolfe said: “There’s a fantastic buzz, they’ve done super – this is the day that makes teaching worthwhile for all the staff.
“It’s brilliant to see their success after all the effort and hard work they put in, a really good ending to our time together. They’re going to go on and do wonderful things now, they’re our future.” He added that it was great that so many of them had turned up to share in their joy, saying “it’s a sign that we have a good relationship with them.”

One leaving cert student, Luke Wallace, told The Echo: “I’m happy with myself, I got what I was looking for and I think I did very well,” adding that he was now waiting for CAO results next week.
“I was very nervous about the results but I’m delighted, and so is my family,” he said, adding that celebrations were in order now.
Fionn Sheehan said he was pleased with all his results, particularly his H1 in maths: “The exam went well, everything went perfectly on the day it all went my way and it’s thanks to my maths teacher who did extra classes with us.
“I’m absolutely delighted overall, I got 523 and I only needed 460 so I doubt the points for my course will go up 60.”
Congratulations for the more than 7,000 Cork students receiving Leaving Certificate results today have poured in, as one Cork school celebrates 10 of its students receiving the maximum 625 points.
The State Examinations Commission (SEC) the results available from 10am today to students who sat this year’s Leaving Certificate Established, Leaving Certificate Applied and Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme examinations, including 7,007 Cork students.
The principal of Christian Brothers College in Cork, David Lordon, has said that 10 students at CBC have received 625 points, with five students achieving an incredible 7 H1 grades. Five students were awarded 6 H1s.
In total, 149 students received their results today in the college with 21 students obtaining more than 600 points.
Mr Lordon said the collage was "very proud" to congratulate the Leaving Cert Class of 2025 on today’s exceptional results.
"The weeks leading up to today have doubtless been a nervous time for everyone, but I’m sure when they logged on this morning to view their results, they felt that all their effort and sacrifice had paid off.
“This Leaving Certificate experience has very much been a collaborative journey, making today equally meaningful for their families and teachers who have encouraged and mentored them throughout the process," he added
"Today marks an exciting time for our students as they look forward to new possibilities and adventures in third level and beyond.”
Minister of state at the Department of Education and Cork TD Michael Moynihan congratulated the students across the country receiving their Leaving Certificate examination results today.

Mr Moynihan said that it was a huge achievement, regardless of the results themselves.
“You have put in so much time, effort, and hard work to get to this moment, and your resilience and dedication are truly a testament to your character. I hope you feel immense pride in everything you've accomplished and in the many ways you have enriched your school community over the past few years," said Mr Moynihan.
“This is a new beginning for you, and as you look to the future, remember that a wide range of opportunities and supports are available to help you achieve your goals and realise your full potential.

“Whether your path leads to further education, an apprenticeship, or the workforce, the skills you've gained are a solid foundation for your next steps. The future is yours to shape, so go forward with confidence," he added.
“We wish every student the very best for the future and are excited to see the amazing things they will achieve.” President of the Association of Secondary Teachers Ireland (ASTI), Padraig Curley, also congratulated all students. “Your whole school community is proud of you, especially your teachers.

“Talk to your school, your guidance counsellor and your family. Know that the skills, experiences and resilience you have developed in the last number of years will stand to you as you move to the next phase of your lives”.
