The Glengarriff 5-Mile Race will take place on Saturday, September 6, starting at 4.30pm.
Organised by a local committee in collaboration with Beara AC, the race route will go through the native woodland of Glengarriff and along the river, before finishing in the centre of the village.
This is the first of four races in the Beara Autumn 5-Mile Series, which will also include events taking place in Allihies, Bere Island, and Eyeries.
Race organiser Gerard Harrington said: “We’re thrilled to see such strong numbers this far out.
“It shows the appetite for community running events is growing every year and the Beara Series is proving to be something special.
“Whether you’re a seasoned club runner or just taking on your first challenge, there’s a place for you on the start line.”
