Tesco has launched a significant festive recruitment drive as it seeks to fill 75 Cork jobs this Christmas.

Applications are now open through the Tesco website for those interested in applying for more than 1,100 temporary roles across Ireland, with flexible opportunities for those seeking work during the busy season.

As part of Tesco’s seasonal recruitment drive, the retailer is recruiting helpful and friendly people for shifts in the early morning, daytime, and evening from November onwards. Along with competitive terms and conditions, from day one, all people joining the Tesco team will benefit from the retailer’s broader reward and benefits package, which includes free access to an online GP via video consultations and online prescriptions. Family members living at the same address can also avail of this service at a reduced cost.

There are also free food offerings at all stores, and emotional support, counselling, and access to wellbeing services for colleagues and their families through Tesco’s employee assistance programme.

Maurice Kelly, people director at Tesco Ireland, commented: “We’re delighted to be creating over 1,100 festive roles across the country this Christmas.

“These roles will support our existing colleagues to help us deliver the best possible service to customers throughout the festive season and provide new team members with access to an industry-leading benefits package from day one. If you’re not already part of the team and are looking for extra hours or want to give retail a try, this is a fantastic time to join our team and make a real difference in your local community.”

Tesco encourages interested candidates to apply online as soon as possible on their website. After Christmas, temporary colleagues will have the opportunity to apply for available permanent roles in existing stores or new Tesco locations planned for the coming year.
