A garda spokesperson said that a number of people received medical treatment at the scene.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a five-vehicle road traffic collision involving cars, that occurred on the N25 eastbound at Harper’s Island outside Cork city this evening, at approximately 5.30pm.

A garda spokesperson said that a number of people received medical treatment at the scene, for injuries “believed to be non-life-threatening at this time”.

The road is currently open.

The spokesperson added: “Investigations are ongoing.”
