DPP directions are still being prepared in the case against a 20-year-old man facing charges arising out of the alleged seizure of €20,000 worth of cannabis at Coburg St, Cork, on May 14.
Sergeant John Dineen said at Cork District Court that directions were awaited in the case.
Defence solicitor Aoife Buttimer said Joel Akinnuwa, who appeared by video link from prison, consented to a two-week remand in custody, but asked for it to be pointed out to the court that this is the only thing keeping him in custody.
Mr Akinnuwa of Rockview Hill, Mountrath Rd, Portlaoise, Co Laois, faces a charge of possession of cannabis for sale or supply at Coburg St on May 14.
