A 32-year-old man charged with ten counts of defilement of a child is to be served with a book of evidence on September 30.

The parties to the case cannot be identified for legal reasons.

Judge Mary Dorgan adjourned the case until that date, on the application of Sergeant John Dineen.

Defence solicitor Shane Collins-Daly represented the accused who was remanded on continuing bail.

He is required to sign on once a week at his local garda station, provide his mobile number and be available for contact by the gardaí, surrender his travel documents and not apply for other such documents and have no contact directly or indirectly with the injured party.

Three counts refer the defilement of a child under the age of 15 between April and June 2020, and a further seven counts of defilement of her when she was under the age of 17 between June and November 2020.

It is alleged that he was aged 27 at the time of all defilement charges.
